6. Emission inventory
Source groups

The domestic fuel source group comprises the emissions from firing systems for the heating of buildings and of water that require no permission, except for those in industrial areas. The emissions were determined on the basis of the total final energy consumption of the buildings and by means of emission factors related to each energy source.

The traffic source group contains the emissions from motorized traffic. For determining the emissions, the roads within the plan area were divided into line and area sources. The time-dependent traffic volume was determined for each source through traffic counting and speed cameras depending on time and weekday. The emissions were then calculated on the basis of speed-dependent emission factors.

The business and industry source group assembles the emissions from all systems requiring permission in terms of pollution control. It also contains the emissions of systems requiring no permission as long as the emissions produced by these systems reach a significant extent. Among these are systems from industrial companies and most of all numerous small business enterprises.
